Hi Veikko,
I just love bikes like this, it shows to what lenghts people in eastern Europe went to keep things going when there were no spares around. In fact this AJS is a relatively good survivor - I've seen much greater horrors in Hungary. Your AJS looks to be a 1930 250cc R12. The frame is the 250cc type as the saddle tube goes to the front of the gearbox casting and not between the two stud holes as on 350 frames. There should be a brass plaque on the engine crankcase driveside giving the engine no but this often has fallen off. The gearbox is not correct (the original No2 AJS box was weak) and although it looks like a Burman, more probably is a German type (Pfeifer etc). The forks look OK and front wheel maybe correct, not sure about the petrol tank, oil tank is of course wrong, rear wheel is wrong (thats some rear sprocket!), rear frame lugs look modified. But its a worthwhile project and could make a lovely bike.

, found from shed in Estonia.
Owner want to identify it.
Engine nummer is 136777.
Owner will give more information in future(gearbox and frame nummers).
Can everyone say something more.
It is classical example of post war poor man everyday bike.
