Identifying of Pobeda factory numbers - Samb - 22-08-2005
Auto on Pobeda M20 -54. Valmistusnumero ei ole tolpassa, penkin alla eikä atupyörän takana. Voiko tämä olla? Siinä on kaksi numerosarjaa. Kumpi on valmisutnumero?

The Russian cars like a Pobeda have three important factory numbers - number of chassis, number of frame and number of engine. Two of the above-mentioned numbers are pressed in the label and are shown from the photo you have taken.
The first one (in left) is a number of an engine (in Russian: Nomerj dvigatelja), the second one (in right) is a number of a chassis (in Russian: Nomerj shassi).
The third significiant number - number of a frame (in Russian: Nomerj kuzova) does not listed in the laber, only in the frame (for 2nd series Pobedas on the upper part of torpedo).
The number you mentioned in your picture as an unidentified (above the number of the chassis) is the production year. More accurate - the last one or two numbers of it (there are printed \"19\" or \"195\" already).

Of course I have... I have full copies of 6 books of Pobeda (in Russian).

As for books - I have two good books, too big for full scanning and OCR.
Books:
1. Avtomobili Gorkovskogo avtozavoda (Gorky Car Factory Vehicles) by Gorokhovsky, Moscow, 1963 - about gaz-12, gaz-20, gaz-13, gaz-21, gaz-51 abd gaz-63, many pictures, tables, in russian.
2. Sovetskie avtomobili spravochnik (Soviet cars, reference book) by Anokhin, Moscow, 1954 - about gaz12, gaz20, m401, some lorrys and buses. Even more pictures, tables, in russian.
I can scan any part of these books if somebody needs it. Translation in english is also possible.

Jäi silma selline huvitav seik, et shassii number on minu 49. aasta pobi dokumentides 7075, kuid selle graafiku järgi peaks 49 aasta olema kusagil 20 000 ligi, kas vaatasin mina midagi valesti või on teinud dokumentide koostaja mingi vea

Enne 1950. aastat on teave seal väga ligikaudne ja lünklik. Vähemalt mine tean mõneaastase uurimistöö tulemusena, et Sul on siiski õigus.
Igatahes auto kerenumbriga 6545 ja šassiinumbriga 6620 on kaljukindlalt valmistatud 1949. aasta jaanuaris või äämisel juhul veebruari algul (see on seesama isend, mida mina taastan). Kui Sina väidad šassii numbri olevat 7075, siis see on tõenäoliselt ka kusagil jaanuar-veebruar 1949, sest tõesti selle aasta jooksul valmistati umbes paarkümmend tuhat autot.
Ehk Sinu arvestus/dokumendid on korras
