This Pantera is a late 1971 model and came out of Blue Springs, Missouri (that would account for the Missouri plates in some of the pictures). It has been extensively modified, inside and out ($70,000 in receipts), mostly with parts from either Hall Pantera or Pantera Specialists. Externally it has been upgraded to the GT-5 spec with the addition of flares, wing and wheels from Hall Pantera. It is finished in pearl white, inside and out, with black trim. Interior is finished in light grey leather, with mostly stock and original controls, wiring, instrumentation and seats. Cooling system has been upgraded, as has the braking system (it actually has the Pantera/Mangusta racing emergency brake calipers on the rear wheels, cool), air conditioning and square headlight conversion. The engine bay has been the most extensively modified, the most obvious being the 351 Cleveland engine upgraded with the addition of the TEC-II Fuel Injection System from Pantera Specialists, B&M 4-71 Supercharger, twin Turbos, 10 Qt. oil pan and a host of other performance parts on the inside. As well, the ZF-5 transaxle has been recently upgraded with the Centreforce clutch. The power is applied to the ground through Pirelli P-0\'s on 17x10\" and 17x13\" wide Hall Ultra wheels.

Pantera specification information from August 1971 Car and Driver and compiled from other published road tests.
The numbers presented in the above chart represents a stock Pantera as tested in 1971. The typical car today is much faster. As and example, Curt Toumanian\'s mostly stock 1973 Pantera L, with a K&N air filter, GTS Headers & exhaust, MSD ignition, Holley 750 double pumper, Edlebrock intake and mild cam has a best 0-60 time of 4.56 (recorded at sea level). Curt\'s best standing 1/4 mile is 12.5 sec. Curt\'s car dyno’d 295 hp at the rear wheels. Given the 18% loss through the transaxle that it about 350 hp. Which is about 30-50 hp over a completely stock 1973 engine. The typical built engines that Curt has seen run about 400 to 550 rwhp. Curt expects these cars could do sub 4 second 0-60 times.
Igatahes kiire auto. BBC combo (või twin turbo) korral Ca. 800 + hp korral sooritusvõime kuulub juba \"raskekaallaste\" klassi.

Torque 630 fp@5300rpm
0-60 mph 3,3 sec
Acc @ 50 mph 0,88 G in 2;gear
Braking power* 1,06 G
Ski pad** 1,06 G
According to Cygnus computer, which is an on board computer with wheel rotation, crank and other type of sensors to measure performance, 700 hp at 6600 rpm, measured installed in the car with 20 disc Supertrapp. Eqvivalent motors by Ray Barton produce 775 hp and 700 foot pound, in the bench dyno. I tuned the headers at a little lower rpm than max HP. The ZF gearbox put an limit to fast starts, as one cannot let the clutch go at high rpm. Gearbox will probably break from the added kinetic energy stored by the rotating mass. But it does seem to handle the torque itself well. Now I am not too concerned. This is not a 1/4 mile car, so a road racing set up is to prefer.
* Braking speed 60 - 30 mph. ** Test is made in a circle of 200 foot diameter

Prepareeritud autod võivad muidugi kergemad - raskemad olla

Panterasid on väga erineva hinna ja seisukorraga, laias laastus C5 Corvette hinnaga annaks midagi juba hankida...
Aga muidugi, ega $ puu otsas ei kasva....

Üldiselt isegi ilma bodykitita on siluett üsna kaasaegne:
- MinaIse - 12-12-2002
Sellised autod ongi kõige ilusamad ilma kõikvõimalike külgekruvitud plastmassjunnideta. Igasugu jubedad suured tiivad rikuvad originaalis ülimalt stiilse asja ära. See ei kehti sugugi ainult Pantera ja teiste eksootide kohta. Nende vägistamine on juba kuriteo mõõtu
Enamus autosid - ka tavaautod - näevad nö \"tuunitult\" naeruväärsed välja.
-
nasa13 - 12-12-2002

Mõned bodykitid on küll päris ilmetud, mõned jälle moonutavad lausa auto välimust...
