Mõningate müütide purustamiseks üks off
Zenit-E ei olnud välismaal (Inglismaal) ostetud mitte seetõttu, et tegu olnuks eriti hea kaameraga, vaid ta oli konkureerivate toodetega võrreldes lihtsalt sigaodav. Odav piirini, kus probleemid koostekvaliteediga enam ei seganud.

Näteks ühel mu tuttaval on siiani vist riiulis uus Zenit-ET, mis ei suutnud poest ostmisest alates kõigist katsetest hoolimata tekitada teravat pilti. Midagi läks koostes nihu ja tulemuseks on negatiividel lihtsalt hägu.
Kvaliteedi osas oli näiteks Ida-Saksa Praktica oma Zeissi objektiividega ikka kordades paremal tasemel. Hea vanatehnikasõber Heino R kasutab sellist juba vähemalt 30 aastat ja on väga rahul.
Vene tehnika on hea fotograafia algtõdede omandamiseks, nostalgiavajaduse rahuldamiseks või mõne spetsiifilise fotograafia suuna (näiteks lomograafia) viljelemiseks. Mingil määral ka kuntsi tegemiseks. Kui aga fotograafia moodustab suurema või väiksema osa tööst, pole nende kaameratega suurt midagi peale hakata.
Jah, tolle ajastu USSR objektiivid on hea hinnaga ja kordades soodsamad kui kaasaegsed, aga tõeliselt terava joonega isendi leidmine on pigem erand kui reegel.
Isa Zenit-E'ga olen ma isegi pilti teinud, aga samast ajast pärit Pentax K1000 (pandimajast 300 krooniga tehtud ost, elu parim fototehniline leid) on nii kasutusmugavuselt kui pildi teravuselt ikka kordades parem.
