Kui keegi midagi teab, siis küsimused on jätkuvalt Maz-Ural-Kraz-i kiirendava V käiguga kasti kohta. Mark ЯМЗ-204У. Kas mahub 131-le (arvestades 131 originaalmootori asendit) ja kas paremalt küljelt ette 131 vintsi saab käima panna?

Staring with the engine.
I wont go into the history of the original engine as there are looms of threads on the subject. Suffice to say She now has a [322 Leyland] Cummins 5.9 (6BTA) with a ZF S6-36 OD transmission.
Donor vehicle for the engine was a Daf 55-180 (2001 reg).
Donor vehicle for the Transmission was a Daf 55-210 (1999 reg).
The work was carried out by Snows Commercials in Bristol. Great guys mechanically. They feel they somewhat underestimated the work/cost but did not increase the labour bill over the agreed £2000.
Technical:

-Front X member was trimmed to allow the engine to fit in the bay
-Removed o/s rear engine mounts
-Reinforced Chassis frame with spreader plates and put in new mounts (Daf 55 donor rubbers)
-Fitted Diesel compatible exhaust and silencer (Daf 55 donor)
-Disconnect transfer box levers
-Cut Prop shaft and machined a DAF 65 prop for front end, slider section (Zil prop is 3mm thick, DAF 65 is 5mm thick for more endurance)
-DAF 55 crank shaft mounted fan is too low for rad, it needs to be at top of block so used Cummins fan hub with Dennis Dart (Enviro 300) bearings carrier and re-engineered auto tensioner belt.
-Intercooler (Daf 55-220) fitted between rad and grille. It was rebuilt (tig welded) for the job with flow reversed. Iveco 75E15 supplied the hoses.
-Steering pump on engine was rated too high (blew a seal on the steering gear) so down rated and works a treat.
-Primary Zil air tank replaced with brake wet tank for compatibility with engine air pipes witha remote compressor unloader valve.
-ZF S6-36 is air assisted so a small reserve air tank was fitted. A new gear linkage system had to be fabricated from box to cab.
-Air filter comes from a volvo FL6 to fit snug in engine bay.
-Fuel tank has primary filter added.
-DAF 55 dashboard added, wired to engine but not installed (I have to integrate that in the coming weeks).
Thats about it for the engine work at present. I will attach some photos in the coming days...
