In 1991 Estonia regained independence and new series of plates were introduced based on new standard. At the beginning drivers had to switch Soviet plates with Cyrillic letters to new ones. New Estonian plates are 520 x 113 mm size and consist of 3 numerals and 3 Latin letters. These characteristics have remained unchanged until today.
