Tsitaat: In our SEMA Show coverage last month, we showed a photo of a C5 Corvette built to compete in the Fastest Street Car competitions but we were unable to identify the owner. Then at the recent PRI Show in Indianapolis, the car was once again displayed in the Moroso booth. As it turns out, the C5 is owned by Moroso President Rick Moroso, who had the car built by Moroso’s Competition Engineering chassis shop for the NMCA’s Hot Street class. Starting with a brand-new C5 Corvette (“So we could sell the left-over parts and also not have to paint it,” Moroso said), the CE shop installed a full tube chassis from the firewall back, complete with a chrome-moly 4-link rear suspension and wheelie bars. The engine is a 375 cubic-inch Chevrolet small-block, with Chevy canted-valve heads and modified SB2 intake, that produces 840 horsepower. “The car is completely street legal, except for the hood scoop,” Moroso added. “All the lights, blinkers, horn, etc. work. It has a full interior with stock seats, dash, and console as we tried to build it as stock appearing as possible and still be competitive.” In its only outing so far, the Moroso Corvette ran a best of 8.89 at 151 mph. Moroso plans to campaign the car at all seven NMCA races next year with the goal of bringing the points championship to the Moroso home offices in Connecticut.

Kõva sõna IMHO! :duh
