Hello Andreas. I saw your Masovia before it was shipped to you, very nice bike. Your bike is from same place and from same family as my mens Royal Enfield. Those 2 bikes were found in Tallinn, Nõmme.

In tolmuahvs foto is Victoria Werke bicycle, some details are similar to Masovia and theory was, that Masovia factory may have bought some details from other factories.

There are 2 Masovia bicycles in a 41/42 list (frame numbers 39877 and 45916). Those are bikes that people were looking through local newspaper (Saaremaa newspaper) ads because military confiscated those or they were lost for some other reason.

Otherwise I think I have seen few Masovias more in private collections but thats it.

thank you very much for the interesting informations! So it was found in Talinn, Nõmme. If I understand correctly it was found in a house after it was sold. Both bikes (your Royal Enfield, and the Masovia) are in an incredible condition! These bikes must have been stored there for ages and very protected!
Interesting also about the Victoria Werke bike. Some details are indeed similiar. But I recognized this already with some other bikes from german production. The sleeves ? ("Muffen" in german) are similar to bikes from the manufacturer "Falter" from Germany.  In fact, the Todtenhöfer Company bought the individual parts and pipes from other manufacturers in Germany and then soldered, painted and completed them in their factory in Königsberg. I did an Interview with an ex Worker at Todtenhöfer, who described and confirmed this to me.  Soon I will publish my report about the History of Todtenhöfer / Masovia on my homepage and also in a german old bikes magazin.
Interesting that at least a few Masovia bikes survived in Estonia! In Germany these bikes are very seldom. Of course, the main sales area of this bikes (Eastprussia) is now far away from Germany. But also in nowaday Poland not many Masovia bikes seem to exist anymore. And from Kaliningrad Oblast not much is known about old bicycles there.

I assume these Todtenhöfer bikes are pre-Masovia. Because Masovia bikes started in 1929. But Todtenhöfer existed as a wholesaler since 1901 or even earlier since 1895, this I am not sure about. It would be interesting to know from when are this Todtenhöfer bikes. Maybe you can get some information about the frame number or year of the rear hub ?

I have also one question about the number plate that was mounted on the Masovia bike:

Was this originally mounted on this bike ? Or was it added later? The plate is from 1933, but the bike itself is from 1940. Does this match ? Could these number plates forwarded to other bikes?
